Die Bildserie The Mizen Blurred von Frank Dömer entstand 2014 in Mizen Head, einer Halbinsel an der Südwestspitze Irlands. Umgeben vom Atlantik, der gen Westen nach Amerika führt, löst sich die Natur und Landschaft in den nebulösen Schwarzweißaufnahmen von Frank Dömer als atmosphärische Abstraktion auf. In etwa 12° weiten Schritten wurde hierfür die Kamera in einer 360° Drehung um die eigene Achse bewegt und der Fokus auf unendlich gelegt. Der dadurch entstehende Eindruck der Abstraktion behält in seiner Präsentation die abgeschrittene räumliche Abfolge bei. Als mehrteilige Bildserie wird dies für den Betrachter in einer Wandinstallation, bei der Zeit und Überzeitlichkeit in abstrahierten Bildmomenten miteinander verbunden sind, nachvollziehbar.

The photographs in the series The Mizen Blurred by Frank Dömer were taken in 2014 in Mizen Head, a peninsula at the southwestern tip of Ireland. Surrounded by the Atlantic, which leads to America in the west, the nature and landscape dissolve in the nebulous black-and-white photographs of Frank Dömer as atmospheric abstraction. In approximately 12 ° wide steps the camera was moved in a 360 ° rotation around its own axis and the focus was set to infinity. The resulting impression of abstraction, in its presentation, contributes to the successive spatial sequence. As a multi-part image series, this is comprehensible for the observer in a wall installation in which time and over-time are combined in abstracted image moments.
